Spending on Cloud Computing to touch $42 billion by 2012
An IDC report states that spending on cloud services is expected to grow 3 fold to touch nearly $42 billion by 2012. Such services based on the concept of cloud computing offer a much cheaper and low risk option to offer and use IT services and solutions. The IDC survey found out that already 11% of the IT executives queried across the Asia Pacific region are using cloud-computing solutions.

A further 41% of the surveyed executives responded that they were either surveying possible use of cloud based solutions for their enterprises or already implementing roadmaps for using cloud computing. Only 17% of the respondents were not very optimistic about the potential of cloud computing in the current scenario due to lack of enough services to be offered through the cloud-computing model. Nevertheless they remained optimistic about adopting cloud computing in the future when the conditions would be more favourable.
